THE PLAYERS allows fans to bring in their own food in a 1 gallon clear, plastic bag where food items are also wrapped in clear wrap. Fans can refill their empty water bottles at the filtered water stations. This policy does not allow fans to bring in outside water bottles and/or beverages.
THE PLAYERS features menus from some of Jacksonville’s favorite restaurants.
When THE PLAYERS Stadium Course debuted in 1982, it was unique in the world of golf, having been built with the spectator in mind. In many ways, it was way before its time, and improvements since the course’s opening have maintained and improved the excellent fan experience. 2019 renovations are underway.
As part of Baptist’s program as the on-site provider of medical services, the Family Care Suite will extend their services to attendees of THE PLAYERS with the venue serving as a comfort station for mothers and fathers to care for their babies and have a private, comfortable venue as needed during tournament week.
THE PLAYERS is implementing several environmentally friendly initiatives to help reach the tournament’s recycling and sustainability goals. The green initiatives supporting THE PLAYERS efforts to be environmentally responsible and generate less waste include:
Fans can help THE PLAYERS recycle today for a greener tomorrow
· THE PLAYERS is working with Republic Services, based in Jacksonville, to provide comprehensive recycling solutions with waste management services at the tournament, and to make recycling at the tournament as convenient as possible for fans.
· Fans will see improved signage and a greater effort from staff and volunteers monitoring the collection areas to ensure fans are utilizing the proper bins and the tournament is recycling all possible items.
· Republic Services will have single-stream recycling available at THE PLAYERS and accept all recyclable materials in one container. The most commonly recycled items at the tournament include paper, newspaper, magazines and brochures, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and bottles and glass bottles.
Energy Audit
In 2013, Atlanta-based Southern Company, the Official Energy Company of the PGA TOUR, conducted an energy audit during the tournament, providing THE PLAYERS with recommendations for using energy wisely and making facilities more efficient at future tournaments. THE PLAYERS has implemented ways to reduce wasting energy. Some of which include:
· THE PLAYERS have replaced the use of incandescent lamps with florescent lamps where possible;
· THE PLAYERS has cut back on the use of generators and HVAC systems, shutting systems down during off hours where possible;
· THE PLAYERS added five permanent power locations that displace the use of generators on course.
“Four for Free” Parking
