THE TOP 5: KNOW THESE RULES
- No alcohol while in uniform — on course, in Volunteer Village, or anywhere in public
- No photographs or cameras while in uniform — personal photography is not permitted
- No drugs, smoking, or vaping — being under the influence of any substance is prohibited
- No harassment or discrimination — every person deserves to be treated with respect

THE PLAYERS Championship is a televised, world-class professional sporting event, and our volunteers are a direct reflection of the tournament's reputation. We expect every volunteer to conduct themselves with courtesy, professionalism, and integrity — on the course, in Volunteer Village, and anywhere they are representing the tournament in uniform. The following guidelines are designed to protect you, your fellow volunteers, the players, and the championship's image. Please note that this list is illustrative and not exhaustive. A violation of this Code of Conduct may lead to immediate revocation of your volunteer credentials, removal from tournament grounds, and disqualification from volunteering at future events.
While in Uniform, You Must:
- Wear the official tournament-issued PLAYERS volunteer polo, black jacket, and approved headwear at all times while on duty
- Wear khaki-colored pants or knee-length shorts (men) or khaki or white colored pants, skirts, capris, or knee-length shorts (women) — cargo-style clothing is not permitted
- Wear comfortable, close-toed shoes (spikeless golf shoes are permitted)
- Display your volunteer credential visibly at all times
- Treat all spectators, players, caddies, staff, media, and fellow volunteers with courtesy and respect
- Abide by all tournament policies, procedures, and instructions from tournament staff and your Committee Chair
- Follow all safety recommendations and protocols set by the tournament and the PGA TOUR
- Be punctual and fulfill all assigned shift requirements
- Complete all shifts assigned unless you have communicated otherwise with your Committee Chair
- Report any suspicious activity, safety concern, or Code of Conduct violation to your Committee Chair or tournament staff — "See something, say something"
While in Uniform, You Must Not:
- Consume alcohol or be under the influence of alcohol — This is strictly prohibited while wearing any part of your volunteer uniform, whether on course, in Volunteer Village, or anywhere in public
- Take photographs or use cameras — Personal photography while in uniform is not permitted; point-and-shoot, film, and DSLR cameras are prohibited during competition rounds, and video cameras are prohibited all week
- Smoke, vape, or be under the influence of any drugs or controlled substances
- Use your cell phone for personal calls on course — Devices must be on silent at all times; data use (texting) is permitted, but phone calls are allowed only in designated areas; no live streaming or real-time coverage is allowed
- Post on social media in a manner that could reflect negatively on the tournament, the PGA TOUR, or fellow volunteers — Exercise good judgment and remember that you are representing THE PLAYERS Championship
- Seek player autographs, solicit gratuities or gifts, or make personal or professional requests of players, caddies, or VIP guests
- Allow another individual to use your volunteer credentials — Your credential is non-transferable and must remain with you at all times
- Enter restricted areas without proper credentials
- Leave your assigned post or task unattended without approval from your Committee Chair
- Use vulgar, offensive, or inappropriate language
- Engage in any type of discriminatory or harassing behavior on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, military status, or any other status protected by applicable law
- Resell tickets, credentials, or tournament merchandise — The resale of any ticket, credential, or tournament merchandise is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate revocation of your volunteer credentials
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or ordinance
- Bet on the tournament — All volunteers must read, be familiar with, and agree to abide by the PGA TOUR Volunteer Integrity Program, which prohibits volunteers from betting on the tournament
Golf Etiquette Reminders
As a volunteer at a professional golf event, you are expected to model the etiquette standards of the game:
- Be quiet and remain still when gallery management volunteers raise their hands prior to any shot
- Wait for the gallery management signal before crossing any fairways
- Refrain from moving or walking when a player is preparing to hit a shot
- Respect the players' concentration — do not speak with players while they are on course unless your committee role requires it
- Unless instructed otherwise by your Committee Chair, stay outside the ropes at all times
If you are aware of or suspect conduct that is unlawful or violates this Code of Conduct, please notify your Committee Chair immediately or contact the volunteer support team at playersvolunteerssupport@pgatourhq.com.
