Top-5 hidden gems at THE PLAYERS
1. Back side of the practice grounds (left of #4 green)
Not many people know that the back end of TPC Sawgrass’ practice grounds—located to the left of the 4th green—is open for fans to walk through during the tournament week. Every other week of the year, this facility is open to TOUR members only and is closed to the public.
2. #4 green
Dangle your feet over the bulkhead around the water to the left of the 4th green and watch players hit their approach shots over the water and onto this extremely difficult green.
3. #6 green
This is a great spot for those looking to get away from the crowds and up close to the best players. It’s also the perfect spot to be near players as they walk from the 6th green to the 7th tee. Course designer Pete Dye calls this hole “the most beautiful hole on the course.”
4. #14 green
The right side of the 14th green has a great mound where you can watch players as they play the long, tough par-4, and if you turn around, you can catch players teeing off on the short, drivable par-4 12th. Best of both worlds, right?!
5. Pathway to the Island Green (from #16 green to #17 tee)
One of the coolest and surreal moments in a player’s round at TPC Sawgrass occurs when he walks from the 16th green to the 17th green. The path to the most iconic hole in all of golf is the prime spot to sit, especially once the final groups begin to finish their rounds. If you want a chance to high-five your favorite players as they enter the stadium, arrive early and put your foldable chair down on the pathway to reserve your spot.
