At the center of every thriving community, a special core of citizens have taken up the mantle of “caretakers.” Without their leadership and guidance, communities not only struggle, but rather fall apart. United Way, a cornerstone of charitable organizations, has sought to bring these “caretakers” together for decades, honoring their dedication and creating resources to further the ideals of education, income and health.
The story for northeastern Florida is no different, as United Way has served as not only a foundation, but also a partner of the vibrant residents in the region. As such, THE PLAYERS Championship takes great pride in naming United Way the Charity of the Day during the second round of official competition on Friday, May 12.
As a centerpiece within this prosperous community, United Way invites residents to celebrate their impact while enjoying the pristine conditions TPC Sawgrass has to offer, not to mention the elite professional golf.
Since moving to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1977, THE PLAYERS has put together over $85 million in donations for regional charities, with this year’s contributions continuing to bolster that number.
Come check out and support both United Way and THE PLAYERS Championship on Friday, May 12, and make sure to keep an eye out for the “cool” giveaway available to every person through the gate.
