New double-sided bleacher overlooking holes 12 and 13 open to all fans
Fans at THE PLAYERS Championship will have a new, covered bleacher onsite at THE PLAYERS to enjoy as today the tournament announced the Fan Bleacher presented by Publix, a double-sided structure featuring views of the 12th and 13th holes. In addition to its sponsorship of this new venue, Publix is once again selling tickets at numerous locations in Northeast Florida. The best field in golf returns to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course May 9-14.
New in 2017, the Fan Bleacher presented by Publix provides excellent shaded viewing for fans. Located on 12 and 13 green, the double-sided Fan Bleacher offers covered seating and deck with concessions available for purchase, available to any Stadium Pass holder.
“We are excited and enthusiastic about partnering with such an elite local event and well known organization that annually attracts the best fans, customers and players in the world,” said Dwaine Stevens, media and community relations manager for Publix. “We look forward to providing the visitors to this spectacular venue a hint on how Publix can make their lives easier, even if it’s just sitting in the shade watching the best players in the world sink a putt on 12 or tee it off on 13. Publix will also have some surprises throughout the day for our guests to enjoy. Just a little way to show why Shopping at Publix is a Pleasure.”
The Stadium Pass at THE PLAYERS Championship gives all fans access to a host of upgraded venues onsite, from the Taste of JAX to Trucks on 10. This year, Stadium Pass holders will have access to the Fan Bleacher presented by Publix in addition to the wealth of other venues.
“The Stadium Pass is the best general admission experience in the sport and exemplifies why this tournament is a shrine to all golf fans,” said Jared Rice, executive director of THE PLAYERS. “Partnering with a respected brand like Publix on this outstanding venue highlights our commitment to making the event a true showcase of excellence in all facets.”
The Fan Bleacher presented by Publix is in a prime location between the 12th and 13th greens, offering views of both holes, as well as a glimpse of the tee shot on the 14th hole. The 12th hole was redesigned as part of largescale renovations to the Stadium Course that took place following the 2016 event; it is now a risk/reward, drivable par-4 with water to the left of the green. Fans will be able to watch the best players in the world try to drive the 302-yard par-4 from the comfort of shade in the new venue. It is also near Tacos on 12, the popular food venue featuring TacoLu, a Jacksonville favorite.
Tickets for THE PLAYERS 2017 are on sale at 55 Publix stores throughout Northeast Florida and the surrounding areas, including two locations in Georgia, as well as at THEPLAYERSChampionship.com.
Stadium Passes are $25 for Tuesday, $20 for Wednesday; $60 Thursday and Sunday, $65 for Friday and $70 for Saturday. Fans can also purchase a weekly Stadium Pass for $225, which includes admission Tuesday-Sunday. Stadium Pass prices are exclusive of sales tax and do not include parking.
