Charitable Fundraising Opportunities
While THE PLAYERS is committed to providing year-round support to non-profit organizations throughout Northeast Florida, we also operate charitable support programs hosted around and during THE PLAYERS Championship to support the fundraising goals of organizations committed to serving area citizens and communities. See below for information about these two free programs - Chip In for Charity and Birdies for Charity.
Chip In For Charity
New in 2022, THE PLAYERS reformatted its “Chip in For Youth” program and launched a “Chip in For Charity” program that encouraged the community to purchase tickets to THE PLAYERS to support local nonprofits that fall within one of THE PLAYERS’ charitable pillars: youth services, education, character development, health, wellness and sports and military support. Participating organizations received $40 from every competition round ticket purchased in their name under the program (Thursday through Sunday), while supplies last.
Birdies for Charity Campaign
Birdies for Charity gives local charities the opportunity to earn funds through a unique competition during THE PLAYERS Championship. In addition to requesting a donation, charitable organizations invite stakeholders to guess how many birdies will be made during THE PLAYERS. Upon completion of the tournament, the individual who guesses the exact number of birdies (or closest thereto) will be awarded a grand prize of $10,000. A tie-breaker question will also be asked. Charities are eligible to receive additional funds from a bonus pool.
